SOUTHERN COAST OF SOUTH SULAWESI EXPEDITION
Makassar – Malino Highland – Bira
4 Days / 3 Nights

 

 

Day 01. ARRIVAL IN MAKASSAR / KARAENTA NATIONAL PARK (L,D)
Morning arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, meeting service. Then we will take you Karaenta National Park, a rain forest which occupied by monkey habitat. Here we will have a soft trekking, leaded by Mr. Haro, a jungle man who has supernatural capability to call monkeys by his own way. Afterwards, continue our trip to Bantimurung waterfall which also famous for its colorful butterflies. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we drive to the center of Makassar. Onwards we will visit the Fort Rotterdam, an old fortress of the past colonial Dutch V.O.C. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
 
Day 02. FULL DAY TREKKING RAMMANG – RAMMANG (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will drive approx. 1 hour to Salenrang, a small village located on the north coast of Makassar. From Salenrang, we will take a walk to Rammang-Rammang passing through the old karst stone spread over the rice fields and local villages, until we get to a small green water lake which covered by limestone mountains. Here we will take a boat trip to explore several beautiful views at surrounding area. Picnic lunch will be served on the spot. In the afternoon, take a walk back to Salenrang. Onwards we continue to Makassar. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 03. MAKASSAR – MALINO TOUR (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit Balla Lompoa where we can find all ancient collections of the past Gowa kingdom. Then we drive to Malino, a high mountain resort with approx. 1200 meters above sea level, famous for its natural beautiful landscape. On the way, we will have a change to have a soft trekking through hardwood forest to catch the multi-stepped waterfall in the valley where the place is still very natural and untouched yet by tourism and common people. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Malino. Dinner and overnight stay at Celebes Villa.

 

Day 04. MALINO – SINJAI – BIRA (B,L)
By passing through the fresh air and green villages with their wonderful rice terraces, we will visit Takapa waterfall. Then we visit Malino’s Tea Plantation area with its romantic atmosphere and spectacular view. After enough time, we depart to Tanjung Bira via Sinjani. On the way from Malino to Sinjai offers us many picturesque photo stops en route. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will stop in Tana Beru to see the traditional Phinisi boat building and construction. Upon arrival in Bira, transfer directly to your Resort. End of Tour.
