TRANS SULAWESI
15 Days / 14 Nights

 

Day 01. Arrival in Makassar / Transfer Hotel (D)
According to your schedule of arrival, you will meet our Tour Guide. Then transfer directly to Makassar, the capital town of South Sulawesi. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 02. Full Day Makassar – Malino Highland – Makassar Tour (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will take you on a full day tour around Makassar. In the morning, we will visit the Sulawesi Miniature Garden to see all types of South Sulawesian typical houses. Onwards to Balla Lompoa,  where we can find all ancient collections from the royal family of the former Gowa kingdom. Then take a drive to Malino highland passing through the lake-side of Bili-Bili with many photo stops en route. In the mid-day, arrive in Malino. Onwards, we will visit the Takapala waterfall, located on the natural country side. Here we can take a change to have a soft trekking to find some interesting view at surrounding area. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Malino. In the afternoon, we will visit Green Tea Plantation area to enjoy a beautiful mountainous panoramic. Then back to Makassar. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 03. Makassar – Sengkang / Lake Tempe (B,L,D)
Today we drive to Sengkang, famous as the center of traditional sutera silk clothes factory in South Sulawesi. On the way, we visit Bantimurung waterfall which also famous for its colorful butterflies. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, arrive in Sengkang and directly to the Lake Tempe where we will have a boat trip to discover the way of life of Buginese fishermen with their floating houses. Dinner and overnight stay at simple accommodation in Sengkang.

 

Day 04. Sengkang – Tana Toraja (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit the traditional silk factory where women hand spin and weave silk clothes. Then drive to Tana Toraja via Sidrap. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Coffee break will be made on the Punck Lakawan while enjoy the beautiful panorama the erotic Mt. Buttukabobong. In the afternoon, arrive in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 05. Full Day Tana Toraja Tour (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit the stone hanging grave of Lemo with its Tau-Tau effigies. Then to Kambira where we can find the peculiar baby graves in the trees. Onwards we will explore the architecture of Tongkonan houses in Ketekesu village and Londa, which  is a natural grave with entombed deceased. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Rantepao. In the afternoon, we visit Nanggala and Siguntuk, local Torajan villages famous for their old Tongkonan houses and rice barns. Then back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 06. Full Day Tana Toraja Tour (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will visit Pallawa & Sa’dan, local Torajan villages famous as the center of wood carving. Then to Bori, where we can see the ancient stone megaliths. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Rantepao. In the afternoon, we will take you to Marante, local Torajan village with their big Tongkonans and old rice barns. Then back to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 07. Full Day Batutumonga Trekking (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we drive into the mountains and visit Tinombayo where we can enjoy the spectacular view of the megalith stones spread over the extensive rice fields. Then to a burial cave of Lokomata. From Lokomata, we continue our trip to Batutumonga where we will a have a trekking, enjoy the beautiful panorama and experience a moment of the unique Torajan life style. Lunch will be served close to the top of the mountain. In the afternoon we will have a short trekking along rice terraces, steep hills with huges bamboos and spectacular views. Then back to Rantepao. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 08. Tana Toraja – Pendolo (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to Pendolo via Palopo. The trip between Toraja to Palopo, we will stop on Paredean to enjoy the spectacular view of Palopo peninsula. Lunch en route. Stop also will be made in Palopo to visit the crocodile farm. In the afternoon, arrive in Pendolo. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Mulia Lake Poso -  a simple accommodation near lake Poso.

 

Day 09. Pendolo – Tentena (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel cruising by motor boat to Bancea to visit the natural black orchid forest. And then proceed to Tentena for Lunch. After lunch, we will visit the Wera Saluopa waterfall. Then drive to Siurri for your accommodation at Siuri Cottage at the side of the Poso Lake. Dinner will be served here.

 

Day 10. Tentena – Palu (B,L,D)
After breakfast, set out to Palu the capital town of Central Sulawesi province. On the way we wil visit the Sulewana Waterfall. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, arrive in Palu. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Rama Garden Palu.

 

Day 11. Palu – Moutong (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to Moutong. Today we will enter the North Sulawesi’s territory. On the way to Moutong, we will find some local villages with unique typical life-style. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, arrive in Moutong. Dinner and overnight at Asmora Hotel Moutong.

 

Day 12. Moutong – Gorontalo (B,L,D)
After breakfast, set out to Gorontalo. This time, we will also pass the equator. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Gorontalo. Dinner and overnight stay at Yulia Inn Gorontalo.

 

Day 13. Gorontalo – Manado (B,L,D)                                                            
After breakfast, we drive to the capital town of North Sulawesi “Manado” by passing through the picturesque villages, white sandy beaches, coconut and clove plantations. Late in the afternoon, arrive in Manado. Then direct transfer to Formosa Hotel Manado for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 14. Full Day Minahasa Highland Tour (B,L,D)                                                                               You spend your day among the Minahasan cultures and absorb the beautiful scenery from this North Sulawesi highland. Departure from your hotel and drive into the highlands and visit Tinoor, from here an impressive view over Manado city, afterwards visiting Woloan village; this village has the Minahasan traditional wooden houses, Continue to Temboan Hill; seeing Tondano lake surrounded by green slopes and if not clouded you can see Bitung Harbor. Onwards to Pulutan village that famous for its clay pottery. A romantic moment on the Hill of love with the water spring and its stairs with 2435 steps circled around the hill. This tour is not complete if you did not see the colored lake in Lahendong due to the sulfur reflecting the sunshine, after this spectacular view you will return to Formosa Hotel Manado for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 15. Drop to airport or other hotel of your choice in North Sulawesi(B)
