The resort is situated in the 'heart of the heart' of the coral triangle at the East coast of Central Halmahera in North Molluca, Indonesia.
It is the first and only dive center for hundreds of kilometers around. Instead of other boats you will encounter big groups of dolphins and sometimes whales or Dugongs.

Airport transfer over land and sea in total takes about 5 hours tours through breathtaking views of volcanoes, traditional villages, lakes, rivers and ancient forest with many birdlife.
The bungalows are made of simple materials and are cool inside, even at the hottest moment of the day. Modern comfort with hot showers, European style flush toilet, and 24 hour electricity (all solar power). 10 steps from your terrace you are in the very clear and clean Dive the untouched reefs of Weda bay, Halmahera, Indonesa: everything from pygmy pipehorse to giant grouper, from steep walls to lovely shallow coral gardensbay.
On the reefs, which traditionally are protected by the local villagers against overfishing, you will find the highest diversity in corals and fish life in the world. Here you can make easy, not deep dives or snorkelling on the shallow rich coral gardens and slopes or experience the adventure of endless dropping walls.
Some black sandy bays, such as the one in front of Weda Resort, offer good critter diving without muck; relaxed shore dives directly from your own terrace. However, be aware that you can have strange companions such as walking sharks, bobbit worms, seamoths, stargazer and Napoleon snake eels, thorny seahorses, pygmy pipe horses and flamboyant cuttle fish.
Weda Resort is build at the edge of the extended unexplored primary forest. No surprise to have an abundant bird life and flora here. Horn bills, parrots and cockatoos are daily visitors and wild orchards are growing at the roadsides. If you are ready for some hiking and birdwatching you can even see the Standard Wing Bird of Paradise. Some parts of the forest are accessible by four wheel drive or motored canoe. In the vicinity of the resort there are big cave systems and a salt water lake.
